So what is the sum of all this information, what are my action steps, and where will I go next! Throughout my coursework I have been inspired to dig deeper, think about individuality, learn about best practices, and lead the way. I have a deeper foundational knowledge about best literacy practices, global learning, and ways to support diverse learners and unique individual needs. Instruction is not a one size fits all, and I now have the tools, strategies, and leadership abilities to change the face of education one student at a time. Through this journey I have grown to love supporting dual language learners on their literacy journey as well as supporting their families at home with this sometimes very difficult transition to school. In the future I hope to continue to build on my knowledge of research and best practice and expand my resources to support all learners. I see myself continuing to look for ways to support home school connections, and support cultural structures across both settings. I hope to continue to build on the dual language PLT structure we have built in our preschool program, and expand it to fit the needs of all preschool students. I want to continue to explore ways that technology can increase engagement and literacy development in a developmentally appropriate way for the early childhood classroom. My personal goal to support other early childhood educators in using these frameworks, and strategies to support their students and finding the perfect blend of sounds instructional practices with the newest technology to support that practice.
